The Curve had a quiet night offensively, despite getting seven hits. Brock Holt, Tony Sanchez, and Kelson Brown all collected two hits a piece, while Adalberto Santos had the only other hit. On the bump, Brandon Crumpton got the start and pitched great, allowing only one earned run on four hits, a walk, and four strikeouts. Matt McSwain (Future Mc?) finished the game throwing a scoreless inning of relief.

A West Virginia | West Virginia 6 Greenville 3
The Power improved to 4-6 today with a win over Greenville. Zack Dodson took the mound, working 4.1 innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits. The other run was given up by Josh Poytress in his 3.2 innings of relief. At the plate, second round draft pick Josh Bell collected two hits and an RBI.Gregory Polanco and Jordan Carvajal also collected two hits each and both hit solo home runs.

A Bradenton | Fort Myers 8 Bradenton 7
Mel Rojas led the team with three hits and an RBI today as the Marauders dropped a close one to Fort Myers. Evan Chambers joined Rojas as the only other Marauder to collect multiple hits. Top prospect Gerrit Cole got the start on the mound and did not look nearly as good as he did in his first start. Cole gave up two homers in his three inning outing, giving up three earned runs on four hits. If you are looking for a silver lining, he did strike out four batters. Zachary Foster also got roughed up giving up four earned runs and allowing the walk-off win in the ninth.
