Friday 4/13 Minor League Roundup


AAA Indianapolis | Indianapolis 3 Toledo 2
The Indians held their home opener today and was one of three minor league teams in the sytem to win in walk-off fashion. The walk-off hit came off the bat of Nick Evans, capping a two for five day for him collecting two RBIs. Starling Marte continue his hitting streak with one hit. Brad Lincoln took the mound today, going through seven innings, only allowing two earned runs on six hits. Daniel McCutchen made the only other appearance of the night, pitching two no-hit innings.

AA Altoona | Altoona 6 Richmond 0
Nathan Baker had a great start on the mound today for the Curve, getting in six scoreless innings of work only giving up two hits. He did walk three batters though and only struck out one. Victor Black followed up with a scoreless inning of work, then Tim Alderson finished off the night striking out three batters across two innings. At the plate, Matt Curry collected two hits in four at bats. Seven other players all collected one hits a piece. Altoona was the only team in the system today to not win in walk-off fashion.

A West Virginia | West Virginia 3 Greenville 2
Zachary Fuesser took the hill today for the Power. He threw  four innings , allowing two runs, one earned. Robert Kilcrease, Rinku Singh, and Emmanuel De Leon provided for a scoreless rest of the game. Kilcrease struck out five batters in his three innings of work. Offensively, Jordaneli Carvajal lead the team with two hits. Willy Garcia hit a two run bomb, and three Power players hit doubles. The team won the game in the bottom of the tenth on a walk-off wild pitch.

A Bradenton | Bradenton 3 Fort Myers 2
The Marauders collected their third win of the season today, defeating Fort Myers. Jameson Taillon took the mound for Bradenton and had a great outing. He worked through five innings only allowing one run on three hits, and fanned six batters. On the offensive side of the ball, Justin Howard collected two hits. Gift Ngoepe knocked in the winning run with a walk-off sacrifice bunt. The team drew a total of five walks on the day.
