4/29 Recap | Braves 4 Pirates 3

The Pirates lost 4-3 today. Kevin Correia didn't have all that great of an outing for the Pirates as he threw right around 100 pitches. He pitched 4.1 innings allowing three runs on four hits, as one of the walks forced in a run in the fifth inning. Brad Lincoln pitched two innings and allowed a solo homerun to Martin Prado. Tony Watson and Evan Meek each put together scoreless outings.

Jose Tabata, who had three hits, had a two run single in the second which gave the Pirates a 2-0 lead. They failed to get a baserunner from the fifth to eighth inning but Pedro Alvarez did pick up two more hits putting his average at .200. Andrew McCutchen had an all around tough day. He dropped a routine ball in centerfield which led to a run and also went 0-4 at the plate with two strikeouts. Garrett Jones, Michael McKenry, and Neil Walker picked up the other hits for the Pirates which gave them a total of eight on the day. Alex Presley went 0-4 which snapped his 12-game hitting streak. The only other run for the Pirates came on a wild pitch in the ninth inning which scored Tabata.

The Pirates will hopefully be able to split the series tomorrow as first pitch is expected to be at 7:10 PM.
