8/14 Recap | Dodgers 11 Pirates 0

The Pirates lost tonight by the score of 11-0 to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Kevin Correia got his first loss since June 13th, allowing six runs over six innings. Three of the runs were driven in by former Pirate Luis Cruz and a lot of bad luck was on the Pirates side tonight as far as errors and bad calls by the umpires went. Jeff Locke pitched two scoreless innings in relief and Chad Qualls was charged with five runs through a third of an inning. Chris Resop finished the ninth inning.

There was not much offense put together tonight as the Pirates only managed to get five team hits. Starling Marte, Travis Snider, Neil Walker, Garrett Jones, and Kevin Correia accounted for the five hits.

The Pirates will hope for a series tie, and a 5-6 home stand, which might be tough as they have to face 2011 NL Cy Young award winner Clayton Kershaw tomorrow night.
