Sunday 6/10 Minor League Roundup

AAA Indianapolis | Indianapolis 2 Charlotte 1
Jeff Clement had a double and a home run to break out of his recent cold streak. Starling Marte had a hit in four at-bats and so did Chase d'Arnaud and Jake Fox. Brian Friday added the Indians six hits, but this game was really all about pitching. Justin Wilson threw six innings and gas up one run on one hit. He struck out five and walked three. After that, Jose Diaz, Daniel McCutchen, and Tim Wood all threw hitless innings. The only blemishes were two walks from McCutchen, who was awarded with the win.

AA Altoona | Altoona 15 Binghamton 6
The Curve pounded out 20 hits. Miles Durham, Stefan Welch, Quincy Latimore, and Charles Cutler all had three hit days. Robbie Grossman, Welch, and Latimore all homered. Grossman, Drew Maggi, Durham, Kelson Brown, and Cutler all doubled, and the Curve could no wrong offensively. Shairon Martis had the easy job of just getting through five innings to earn the win. Despite pitching those innings, he gave up 5 earned runs on 5 hits. He walked 4 which hurt his chances of going deep into the game. Matt McSwain, Hunter Strickland, and Jeff Inmam finished out the game giving up just one run (charged to Inman).

A West Virginia | West Virginia 5 Hagerstown 3
The Power finished out the undefeated day for the Pirates system beating Hagerstown 5-3. Taylor Lewis, Dan Gamache, Jose Osuna, and Eric Avila all had two hits, and Alen Hanson added a triple in a 1/3 day. Nick Kingham pitched and gave up just one run in 5.1 innings while striking out 7. He hadn't been having a very good year to this point so this start was big for him. Zachary Fuesser gave up 2 runs in 1.2 innings and Vince Payne and my boy Rinku Singh pitched scoreless innings.
