6/20 Recap | Twins 2 Pirates 1

The Pirates hot bats were cooled off today after a great pitching performance by Francisco Liriano and the rest of the Minnesota Twins.

Erik Bedard had a rough first inning allowing one run but was able to pitch six innings, and allow only four hits, while fanning seven. Jared Hughes and Doug Slaten threw scoreless outings out of the bullpen and Jason Grilli suffered the loss after allowing a run in the eighth inning.

After scoring 25 runs in three games, the offense was held to just one today. Josh Harrison, Casey McGehee, Andrew McCutchen, Clint Barmes, and Matt Hague all had hits and the only run was pushed across on a sacrifice fly by Rod Barajas.

The offense had to cool down eventually and they picked tonight to do it. They look to heat back up and take the series tomorrow at 7:05.
