Stetson Allie Starts His New Career

You all heard the news that the Pirates converted former second round high priced draft picked Stetson Allie from pitcher to third basemen after they realized he just couldn't find the strike zone and had very little hope of being able to do it in the future. Well, Allie started at third base and hit 5th for the Gulf Coast League Pirates today and made an instant impression.

In Allie's first ever professional at-bat as a position player, he hit an RBI triple. He would go out to add a single and a walk in a 2/3 day at the plate. Quite a first impression. Allie's progress will be one of the most interesting things to watch from the minor leagues as the year barrels on.
