6/19 Recap | Pirates 7 Twins 2

The losing streak is now fully behind the Pittsburgh Pirates as they rattled off their third straight win on Tuesday night against the Twins.

They did it with a solid start from none other than Kevin Correia, who wasn’t efficient but kept the Twins off the board. He went 5.1 innings and gave up four hits and no runs. He struck out two and walked one. Tony Watson stranded two base runners for Correia in the sixth and got his seventh hold of the year. Juan Cruz gave up a two run homer to Ben Revere in the seventh and Chris Resop pitched two scoreless innings to finish off the game.

The offense was good again tonight as the Pirates collected 12 hits and scored seven runs. Josh Harrison, Andrew McCutchen, and Clint Barmes all had three hits a piece. Harrison and McCutchen both homered in the game and Barmes had an RBI of his own. Pedro Alvarez had a two hit game to get his average to .214, his best piece of work was a double off the left field wall that almost went for his fifth homer in three games.

Fantastic all around performance for the Pirates, one of their best team performances of the year.
