7/20 Recap | Pirates 4 Marlins 3

The Pirates opened up this much anticipated home stand with a 4 to 3 victory. Kevin Correia started and pitched five innings allowing three runs. He settled into a nice grove after allowing two runs in the first inning and it was his fifth win in six starts. Chris Resop pitched 1.1 innings of relief and Jared Hughes got out of another big spot in the seventh inning, stranding the tying and lead run on base. Jason Grilli had a one-two-three eighth and Joel Hanrahan converted another save, striking out Jose Reyes and Emilio Bonifacio with the tying run on third base.

Pedro Alvarez and Neil Walker each hit solo home runs to help lead the Pirates to yet another home victory. Clint Barmes and Garrett Jones drove in the other runs, which were both on singles. Andrew McCutchen had two more hits, putting his average at .372.

The Bucs have a chance to win the game tomorrow night and Sunday afternoon as well.
