After a tough walk off loss Monday night, the Pirates bounced back with a nice win. Erik Bedard pitched well for the Pirates throwing 6.2 innings and only allowing two runs. Jared Hughes got a big out in the seventh leaving the bases loaded and Chris Resop pitched a scoreless eighth. After Juan Cruz failed to the game out, Joel Hanrahan struck Tyler Colvin out with the bases loaded to end the game.
Andrew McCutchen hit a monster home run which traveled around 440 feet which was his 22nd of the season. Drew Sutton, Casey McGehee, Michael McKenry, and Alex Presley all had RBI hits and Neil Walker had two hits of his own extending his hitting streak to 17 games.
It was a solid win for the Pirates and they look to win the series tomorrow afternoon.
