5/12 Recap | Pirates 5 Astros 2

Joel Hanrahan bobblehead night came to an end with a 5-2 Pirate victory. Charlie Morton started and pitched six innings, allowed only two runs, and got the win.

Chris Resop and Tony Watson picked up scoreless outings and Juan Cruz converted his third save of the season with a scoreless ninth. Cruz was in for the save situation due to Joel Hanrahan being on the bereavement list since Thursday. Joel Hanrahan said he will be back in the Pirates bullpen tomorrow.

Solo home runs were hit by Andrew McCutchen and Jose Tabata tonight. McCutchen finished the night with four hits and Tabata picked up a pair as well. The only other Pirate to get a hit was Pedro Alvarez, which was a double.

The Pirates were able to put up five runs and pick up the win and look for the series win tomorrow afternoon on Mothers Day.
