Pirates, Yankees To Send Burnett Deal To Commissioner

It looks like the A.J. Burnett is just about finalized, but the teams have to send the deal to the commissioner's office for approval because of the large amounts of money involved. This isn't the NBA, so the commissioners will accept the deal and the Pirates will have their new starter.

From what I can tell, the Pirates are going to be paying Burnet $13 million for 2 years and sending 2 single-A prospects to New York.

It took over a week to get done, but it looks like Burnett will be the newest Pittsburgh Pirate by tomorrow, and will report to Bradenton on Sunday.
