Cespedes to Oakland: N.L. Central Stays Weak

Yoenis Cespedes is headed to the American League

The Oakland Athletics signed Cuban phenom Yoenis Cespedes to a four year, $36 million deal. That's a downer for Cubs fan, as Chicago was bargaining hard to sign him.

In an offseason that saw Prince Fielder and Albert Pujols depart to the American League and Ryan Braun get slammed with a 50-game suspension, it just seemed to be destiny that Cespedes would land elsewhere.

The gap between the National League and American League is becoming ridiculous, but that's good news for the Pirates, who are about to play a season in easily the weakest division in baseball.
