3/16 Recap | Phillies 2 Pirates 3

The Pirates won a ball game in a different manner than the previous day on Friday with a low-scoring 3-2 win over their cross state "rivals".

Kevin Correia kept his scoreless spring going with four innings of one-hit baseball. Correia struck out two and looks ready to fill in for the injured A.J. Burnett once the regular season begins.

The bullpen was strong again as the Pirates got scoreless innings from Evan Meek, Justin Wilson, Kyle McPherson, and Danny Moskos. Bryan Morris pitched the ninth for the save but gave up two runs.

On offense, the Pirates collected five hits.
Starling Marte
kept his ridiculous spring going with a lead-off homer in a two for three day at the plate. He also scored the Pirates second run on a Casey McGeheegroundout. Jake Fox added a solo home run for the Pirates third score of the afternoon.

The Pirates have won three in a row and are now just a game below .500 for the spring, which is meaningless but you'd rather win than lose, right?
