Reds vs. Pirates, Game 10

The Pirates open their 2010 NL Central schedule with a series against the Reds that starts tonight at 7:05 in PNC Park. The Reds are a young, up and coming team who have potential to compete in the division. With bats like Joey Votto, Jay Bruce, and Brandon Phillips, they can put some runs on the board in a hurry. Their pitching staff also has some extreme upside with a lot of young talent. The Pirates are going to see some of that young talent tonight in Mike Leake, who looked excellent in his major league debut last week. An interesting tidbit is that Mike Leake has never started a game in the minor leagues. He was drafted last summer in the first round and didn't make any starts in the organization until this year, when he started the year on the major league 25-man roster. It should be a lot of fun to watch him pitch.

Looks like there's a good chance that tonight's game will be delayed and/or postponed. I will be heading down to the game tonight, so I'm hoping for good weather.
