Pirates vs. Brewers, Game 19

The Pirates losing streak is at 6 after another loss to the Astros yesterday. Despite putting only 3 runs on the board, the Pirates hit the ball well yesterday. Andy LaRoche went 4-4, Andrew McCutchen collected 3 hits, and both Ryan Doumit and Jeff Clement had 2 hits. The Pirates totaled 14 hits but could not string enough of them together to put a big enough number on the board to beat the Astros. It would have been tough regardless since the pitching staff got hit hard yet again and allowed 10 runs. Charlie Morton had another ugly start and got knocked out of the game after only 3 innings of work. He gave up 5 earned runs and still lowered his ERA from 16.55 to 16.20. Ugly stuff. I don't know how long the Pirates are going to put up with starts like that from Morton, but they have to take some sort of action soon. Tonight the Pirates try to end their losing streak against the team that started it, the Milwaukee Brewers.
