Buccos Win Stupid | Pirates 9 Mets 3

I saw only the first 2 innings of the Pittsburgh Pirates game tonight, so if you're looking for a recap I'm just going to direct you to Raise The Jolly Roger's post that has that.

Tonight just sounded like a wild one for the Pirates. Five infield singles in one inning? Lucky, lucky, lucky.

But guess what, when you pitch this good, you deserve to be lucky. You don't need much to win a baseball game in which your starter goes 6 innings and allows only 2 runs, and the Pirates got more than enough offense (legitimate or not) to win this baseball game.

There is not a millimeter of doubt in my mind that the Pittsburgh Pirates are a better baseball team than the New York Mets right now, so as far as I'm concerned they completely deserved to win this baseball game. Heck, they completely deserve to win this series, which would mean a win in the finale tomorrow.

The Pirates have done absolutely nothing with the bats all season, so it's kind of nice to see them win a game when they have 14 hits and about 5 or 6 of them are well hit balls.

Why is Brandon Wood hitting the ball now? That's kinda pissin' me off... Two big hits in the last 2 days, making it hard for the Pirates to just sit him until Pedro Alvarez comes back and ride Josh Harrison? What's your problem Wood? How about you play well when we had confidence in you and didn't all hate you.

And Daniel McCutchen has sucked his last two outings. He was just about to get his own post on this blog, detailing his great McNess, but now I'm not too sure. Grow up man.

Kevin Correia leads the universe in wins. Pirates are 2 games below .500.

...screw the math, Let's Go Bucs.
