Starling Marte and Matt Hague had two hits a piece and Gorkys Hernandez had three in a shutout win for Indianapolis. Jake Fox doubled and drove in a run and kept his hot start to the season going. He's now hitting .353 despite having just one home run. The pitcher was Jeff Locke, and he threw a gem. Locke went seven innings and struck out five while not allowing a run. He gave up just four hits and Evan Meek pitched two scoreless innings to finish it off. Locke's ERA is down to 2.31 on the season and that Indy rotation is looking strong once again.
AA Altoona | Richmond 1 Altoona 0 (Game 1)
The Curve got just four hits and couldn't score a run in the first game of the double header on Saturday. Robbie Grossman, Brock Holt, Matt Curry, and Jeremy Farrell picked up hits. Nathan Baker made a nice start giving up just two hits in seven scoreless innings. The lone run of the ball game was given up in the 8th by Kyle Cofield. That would do it for the game as minor league double headers only run 7 innings.
AA Altoona | Altoona 3 Richmond 1 (Game 2)
Robbie Grossman hit a home run in the third inning, and Anthony Norman and Quincy Latimore drove in the other two runs as the Curve used a great pitching performance to get a win. Shairon Martis pitched five scoreless innings with two walks and four strikeouts.
A West Virginia | Greensboro 3 Power 2
Alen Hanson had a double and a run scored and the Power scratched across just that lone run as the Power fell to Greensboro 3-2. Ryan Hafner pitched five scoreless innings but Orlando Castro gave up three ins in three innings and the Power lost a low scoring game.
A Bradenton | Bradenton 7 Tampa 2
Mel Rojas had three hits and an RBI. Gift Ngoepe homered and both Drew Maggi and Carlos Paulino drove in two runs. The Marauders picked up 12 hits as a team and cruised past the Tampa Yankees. Phil Irwin started and gave up just a run in five innings while striking out six. Porfirio Lopez and Quinton Miller finished off the game.
