- The Pirates were off yesterday and they start a series with the first place Washington Nationals tonight. Around the division, the Reds beat the Brewers, Cardinals beat the Diamondbacks, Cubs beat the Braves, and the Astros lost to the Marlins.
- Tim Williams has a post up about how long the Pirates should give Rod Barajas and Clint Barmes to figure out their early season struggles.
- Prospect Alex Dickerson doubled and tripled yesterday as the Bradenton Marauders cruised to a 10-5 win. Here's the rest of the minor league recap.
- Adam LaRoche and Ryan Zimmerman, who have both been on the shelf for the Nationals, are supposed to return to action tonight. Just in time! The lineup we'll be seeing this week will be some combination of Ian Desmond, Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman, Adam LaRoche, Rick Ankiel, Danny Espinosa, Wilson Ramos, and Roger Bernadina. The Nationals are throwing Edwin Jackson, Ross Detweiler, and Steven Strasburg at the Pirates. It's going to be a really tough series.
- First pitch is at 7:05 tonight. It's going to rain in Pittsburgh all day but the forecast shows it cleaning up for game time. There might be a slight delay but they should get this game in.
