  • The Pirates were off yesterday, but it was still a big day for the organization as Gerrit Cole made his first professional start. He went four innings and struck out seven batters allowing just one run. He was in the mid 90's all night long and impressed a lot of people. The full minor league recap is here.
  • Charlie Morton pitched 7.2 strong innings last night in Indianapolis, striking out seven and giving up just a solo run. He looks on track to make the start Saturday against the Giants.
  • The Buccos are out in Los Angeles trying to extend their record to 3-1. Kevin Correia makes the start for the Pirates against Clayton Kershaw.
  • Charlie from Bucs Dugout did a series preview post with the guys at True Blue LA, that's worth checking out.
  • If you haven't heard, A.J. Burnett will be in a Pirate uniform before the end of April. The Pirates just want him to throw 100 pitches in an outing before coming up to the show.
