Jeff Locke got his first start of the season for the Indians today as the team improved to 1-1. He made it through four innings giving up two earned runs on eight hits, while striking out four and not allowing any walks. Both Moskos and Slaten threw just over an inning of work each allowing one run. Jose Diaz pitched a scoreless inning of relief while Tim Wood almost lost the game in the ninth allowing three runs, one earned, on three hits. Jordy Mercer led the way offensively getting four hits, including a double. Jeff Clement, Brandon Boggs, and Erik Fryer all had two hit games, while Brian Friday, Starling Marte, and Gorkys Hernandez all collected hits of their own. Boggs was the only Indian to go deep in a huge offensive game of the team.

Things did not look well out at Blair County Ballpark today as the Curve suffered their first loss of the season in horrendous fashion. Robbie Grossman and Matt Curry led the team with two hits a piece. Jerek Cunningham, Alberto Santos, and Andrew Lambo all added hits of their own. Curry knocked in the only run of the day. On the mound, Brandon Cumpton got 4.1 innings of work, allowing five runs on seven hits. He struck out two and walked one. Kris Harvey and Victor Black combined for 2.2 innings of work giving up seven more runs, but only 3 of them being earned,all charged to Harvey's bill. Kyle Cofield closed out the game with two hitless and scoreless innings. The Curve commited three errors in the field.

Alex Dickerson and Mel Rojas led the way with two hits a piece in the Marauders second loss of the season today. Carlos Paulino and Justin Howard also added hits of their own. Top pitching prospect Jameson Taillon got his first start of the season on the mound throwing 3.2 innings. He gave up two runs on two hits while walking two and striking out an impressive six batters. Jason Townsend followed up pitching a scoreless third of an inning. Quinton Miller than allowed two runs on four hits in two innings of relief. then Porfirio Lopez closed out the game with two scoreless.

Matt Benedict took the mound for the Power today as they dropped to 1-2 on the season. Benedict  pitched 4.2 frames allowing three unearned runs on three hits. He got seven batters out on strikes while giving up three walks. Trent Stevenson allowed one run in 2.1 innings of relief followed by a scoreless inning from Josh Poytress. At the plate, West Virginia collected six hits. Two each from Jose Osuna and Junior Sosa, and Willy Garcia and Jordaneli Carvajal both collected doubles.
