Charlie Morton made a rehab start for the Indians and looked great. Ground Chuck went 7.2 innings striking out eight batters. He gave up a single run on six hits. Starling Marte led off the game with a home run and finished the game with two hits, he's hitting .353 early on. Eric Fryer also added two hits. Jo-Jo Reyes and Tim Wood combined to give up three runs in the 9th and lose the game for the Indians.

AA Altoona | Akron 5 Altoona 1
Aaron Pribanic made the start for Altoona and gave up three runs (one earned) in 3.1 innings. He walked six batters and struck out four. Victor Black gave up two runs in an inning of work. On offense the Curve collected just three hits, from Robbie Grossman, Jarek Cunningham, and Andrew Lambo.

Alen Hanson collected three more hits in a losing effort for the Power. The team collected 13 hits as a unit but got pounded by eight runs. Josh Bell did not play. Zack Dodson started the game and gave up seven runs (five earned) in 4.2 innings. He walked three and struck out three. Justin Ennis gave up four runs, and Jordan Cooper gave up two runs.

The story of the minor league night was the Bradenton Marauders and their starter Gerrit Cole. Last year's first overall pick pitched four innings (on a pitch count) and struck out seven batters while giving up a run on four hits. He walked one and looked great on the mound. His team couldn't provide any offense. Drew Maggie led the team with two hits, and Evan Chambers and Mel Rojas both added hits of their own. Alex Dickerson had another rough night and his season average is down to .125.
