The Indians dropped another game today, this time in extra innings to the Clippers. Rudy Owens got the start on the mound getting through five innings of work. Owens gave up four runs on seven hits while striking out four batters. Daniel McCutchen, Doug Slaten, and Jose Diaz all combined for six scoreless innings after that, then Tim Wood surrendered the winning run in the twelth. Jeff Clement led the team offensively with four hits. Fryer collected two hits and top hitting prospect Starling Marte had one hit in five at bats, knocking in two runs, putting his early season batting average at .304.

The Curve bounced back from yesterday's loss to beat Akron today. Aaron Poreda made a five inning start allowing one run on three hits. Tim Alderson also pitched two scoreless innings giving up only one hit and striking out one batter. At the plate, Elevys Gonzalez had two hits, including a home run and three RBIs. Ramon Cabrera also had two hits, while Brock Holt, Toney Sanchez, Andrew Lambo, and Matt Curry all had hits of their own.

Alen Hanson continued with his hot bat adding two more hits today and drawing two walks. Josh Bell and Gregory Polanco also contributed with two hit games. Nick Kingham got the start on the hill, only making it through 1.1 innings. Kingham allowed four runs on six hits, getting roughed up in his first start of the season. He also walked two batters and hit one with a pitch. Josh Poytress came in and cooled things pitching 3.2 scoreless innings while only allowing one hit and striking out three. Emmanuel De Leon lost the game in the bottom of the ninth securing the Power their fifth loss on the season.

The Marauders locked up their second win of the season defeating Palm Beach today. Hunter Strickland took the mound, giving up the only two runs of the game on five hits and striking out two batters. Casey Sadler, Porifio Lopez,and Zachary Foster combined the rest of the game for four scoreless innings. Drew Maggi and Dan Grovatt both had three hit games. Maggi and Evan Chambers both picked up two RBIs.
