Monday 4/30 Minor League Roundup

AAA Indianapolis | Durham 1 Indianapolis 0
A day after the combined no-hitter, Indianapolis played another low scoring game. The Indians collected just two hits. Anderson Hernandez and Jordy Mercer both singled. Jeff Locke threw seven shutout innings allowing just three hits and walking four while striking out two. Daniel Moskos gave up the only run of the game in one inning of work. Locke has a 2.89 ERA on the season.

AA Altoona | Erie 10 Altoona 5
Matt Curry and Tony Sanchez had two hits a piece, and Ramon Cabrera and Jeremy Farrell both drove in four. Nathan Baker had a rough go of it giving up seven earned runs in 4.1 innings. He hasn't had a great season down there with a 6.94 ERA. Johnathan Ramos pitched 1.2 innings and gave up two more earned runs in the Curve's loss.

A West Virginia | West Virginia 9 Greensboro 6
The Power copied their major league affiliate and scored nine runs in a win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Alen Hanson had another big game going 3/5 and has his season batting average up to .410. Gregory Polanco had four hits of his own. Carlos Mesa hit his second home run of the season in the second inning and the Power cruised to a win despite Zachary Fuesser giving up six runs (four earned) in four innings.

A Bradenton | Bradenton 8 Charlotte 0
The story of the day was once again in Bradenton as Gerrit Cole pitched six shut-out innings while striking out six batters. He allowed just one hit and one walk and looked dominant for really the first time this season. After he left the game Jason Townsend and Zach Foster finished off the shut off. Drew Maggi and Alex Dickerson had three hits a piece, and Dickerson drove in four runs. Dickerson is hitting just .256 this year but could be heating up as he starts to settle into it a bit. Altogether Bradenton had 12 hits and completely pounded the Jupiter Hammerheads.
