You all know the story about J-Mac adding the slider to his repertoire this year and how it obviously had a hand in the break out season he's having. In fact, through the month of April, McDonald's slider was the second hardest hit to pitch in the National League.
There are certainly more things that have gone into Mac's transformation than just adding a slider, but that definitely played a big part of it. He's got three really good pitches now, and that makes him extremely hard to hit. It'll be fun watching him pitch the rest of the year as the league attempts to adjust to him.
