| McEffect Report: Zack Dodson is another strong lefty the Pirates have in the system. He doesn't throw nearly as hard as Taillon or even Heredia, but he sits at 91-92 but counters it with a good curveball and a solid changeup. There's a good chance this guy can make it to the big leagues just because the quality of all 3 of his pitches. He isn't going to have stellar stuff, but if his location continues to improve he could easily be a very good 3-4 starter. Interesting note on Dodson - he hit .465 and led his high school team in home runs in his senior year. |
